6th CALIFORNIA VOLUNTEER INFANTRY

The 6th California Volunteer Infantry, Co. G, the “Germania Guards” were stationed at Camp Low, San Juan Bautista, California during the Civil War.

The 6th California is not an NCWA Unit.  It is open to anyone who wishes to join.   Membership in the 6th is separate from membership in the NCWA or other reenacting organizations.

The “Germania Guards” take part in living history presentations on the Historic Plaza in San Juan Bautista.  These include Plaza History Days, June 20th & 21st, where living historians camp out on the Plaza and present life from the 1820s through the early 1900s.
